The build continues

Well Fabian has been busy finding another place to build the car since his grandmothers old shed isn't ideal given the German winter weather doesn't exactly lend itself to long days in a freezing cold shed. While he's been waiting though he's sent us some more photos of the build. On top of that we did a really quick mock-up (excuse the crudeness) of a wide body which will hopefully be made in carbon. Stay tuned.

Scirocco Quattro Build

AUTOsports first met Fabian when he enquired about some D2 brakes and coilovers about 6 months ago. Fabian was on a working holiday in far North Queensland driving farm machinery. But it was the project he was working on back home in Germany that was the most intersting. Take a 1989 Volkswagen Scirocco. Take an Audi Quattro 5cyl turbo driveline. Mix well. Turn up the heat and get ready for a crazy build.

This is how the car started out, but as you will see it has turned into a monster of a build.

The Audi 2.2 20v inline 5 is a tight squeeze...

The bonnet has to be modified to fit...

And the radiator in the boot.

And these were never built with 4wd in mind so a new tunnel has been designed and the rear axle from a Passat grafted into place to take the drive to the rear.

And with Fabian's final goal of 750hp this Audi S1 rivalling Scirocco won't be missed in down town Berlin...
